Our Story
New Forest Bike Project (NFBP) was set up by Louis in early 2016 to operate as a social enterprise – “a business with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners”. NFBP is now incorporated and registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC), number 10327640.
Louis had worked for charities for 25+ years in the youth, community and environmental sectors. He still does occasionally, specialising in fundraising and consultancy work for not-for-profit organisations. A lifelong interest and passion for all things bike, and a desire to help those in need get on two wheels, led to NFBP. 3 supporters are now on the board to help with the direction, and lots of volunteers help with the daily tasks.
